Time is Running out on Cuomo Blitz

By New Yorkers Against Fracking

The clock is still ticking on our time to show Cuomo that the voters of New York State and beyond do not want him to open our land to drill rigs, noisy trucks, and contaminated water. Because we’re at such a critical point in the campaign to ban fracking, we must amp up the amount of calls Cuomo is getting from the public. Instead of doing one specific call day to Cuomo, we’re going to be doing four weeks of rolling calls to his office to show sustained support for a ban on fracking.

Our movement-wide goal is 2000+ calls into Cuomo’s office each week for the next four weeks until the end of September! Together we can crush this goal and make sure Cuomo’s phone lines are always tied up with “No Fracking in NY” calls! It’s easy to do and takes about three minutes!

Make the Call: Here’s the number 1-866-584-6799. Please be respectful toward the person who answers. (Ranting won’t help the cause.) Here’s two suggested scripts:

- I am calling to strongly urge Governor Cuomo not to move forward with his plan to open up areas of New York to fracking. As a resident of NYS, I ask that Gov. Cuomo do not risk our watersheds and instead ban fracking in NY.

- If Governor Cuomo does not want to be remembered as the Governor who poisoned New York’s water, he should stop this plan to frack New York. We will remember this during his run for president if he contaminates our state.

Close the call:
-Thank you for your time!

Tips for your call:
- Be friendly and nice.
- Try again if the phone is busy or no answer.

Don’t forget to ask your friends and family to call, too!
